EVERY BALLER STARTS SOMEWHERE

September 22, 2026 & October 20, 2026: 5 – 7 p.m.

Iron Courts Ahwatukee is opening the gym for a free skills clinic. No tryout. No team commitment. No cost. Just kids showing up ready to work and coaches ready to teach.

Each session focuses on the fundamentals: ball handling, footwork, shooting form, and the small habits that make a real difference on the court. Real coaches run the drills, break down technique, and give kids the kind of individual attention that’s hard to find outside a structured program.

Whether your kid has never picked up a basketball or already plays travel ball, they’ll walk away with something to work on. It’s not about being the best player in the gym — it’s about getting a little better than you were last month.

Bring water, wear sneakers, and have fun. That’s it.

FUNDAMENTALS
Every drill traces back to footwork, balance, and technique — the stuff that holds up under pressure.
BASKETBALL IQ
We teach kids to read the game, not just run drills — decision-making that carries onto any court.
BODY & CHARACTER
Effort, coachability, and teamwork get coached just as hard as the crossover.

FIVE STATIONS. REAL FUNDAMENTALS.

Athletes rotate through small-group stations led by Iron Courts coaches, each one targeting a core skill every player needs, no matter their position or experience level.

Ball handling

Two-hand control, change of direction, and handling pressure at game speed.

Shooting form

Footwork, balance, and follow-through — reps that build a repeatable shot.

Footwork & defense

Stance, slides, and closeouts. Staying in front of the ball, every time.

Finishing at the rim

Layups with either hand and finishing through contact around the basket.

Team play

Passing, cutting, and small-sided games — putting the whole night to work.

questions from parents like you.

Is it really completely free?

Yes — no cost to attend, no membership required, and no obligation to sign up for anything afterward. It’s our way of opening the gym to the community.

What ages can attend?

Kids ages 6 through 14 of any skill level, from first-timers to kids already playing on a team.

Can I register more than one child?

Yes — one registration form covers up to four kids in the same family.

Does my child need basketball experience?

Not at all. Coaches group athletes so beginners and experienced players both get drills at the right pace.

Do we need to attend?

No. This is optional and each clinic covers the same core stations, so kids can drop in whenever it fits.
